“The Digital Spatial Future for Society and the Challenge for Cadastral Surveyors”
Presenters: Maurits van der Vlugt and Ian Harper

This Seminar will address the following:
Technology has initiated quantum leaps in surveying workflows, outcomes and governance over the last 50 years. Digital technology now provides new measurement and computational tools that should connect surveying and GIS digital land administration tools.  Those tools now generate an efficient digital data structure that appears to offer options that threaten the existing role of the cadastral surveyor.
Maurits van der Vlugt will discuss how spatial technologies are affecting our lives  and transforming business.
Ian Harper will discuss how these could affect the profession and the role of the surveyor.

HOW THE PROFESSION RESPONDS TO THESE NEW CHALLENGES WILL DETERMINE ITS FUTURE

REGISTRATIONS CLOSE: MONDAY 22nd OCTOBER 2012
