Event reminder: Georabble 2

By on 14 June, 2011

Just a reminder for all the spatial Sydney-siders that Georabble 2 is happening this Thursday, the 16th of June.

The previous Georabble provided 100 geo-types with a memorable evening, and this next one should be even better with talks from:

Lew Short: Mega fires – what happens when it all goes bad
Lach McCabe: Using geo to reveal the story at the SMH
Jacqui Kennedy: In Their Honour – Mapping our Anzacs
Stewart Hay: Losing my religion – An introspective look at GIS
Anthony Baxter: Random Hacks of Kindness – disaster and crisis mapping
Cameron Shorter: Memoirs of a Cat Herder – Coordinating open source volunteers

The session will also include ‘speed mapping’ where all the participants are invited to bring along their favourite map to share and talk about, and help in finding any like-minded individuals.

The event is free, but you do need to register at http://georabble2.eventbrite.com/
