DroneShield has announced the rollout of its first fully machine learning-based software classification system for its counter-UAV products.
The Australia-based designer and manufacturer of counter-UAV products is moving to a new software classification system, its first completely driven by artificial intelligence/machine learning.
A company announcement states that the new system is a very lightweight machine learning architecture designed to run on low power FPGA (Field-Programable Gate Array) hardware, enabling the system to be deployed for long term periods in power scarce, air-gapped environments.
DroneShield said that the new system enables a ‘dramatic increase in detection responsiveness, lower false positives and a significant increase in the speed at which new threats are detected, classified and tracked.’
The new architecture will be deployed all DroneShield platforms including RfPatrol, DroneSentry and DroneSentry-X, and will be the basis of future software updates.
