1Spatial and Esri UK have been contracted by Northern Gas Network to lead an enterprise migration to Esri’s new ArcGIS Utility Network model.
The multi-year contract with the gas distributor will see 1Spatial deploy their 1Integrate tools to conduct a data quality audit, cleanse and enhancement ahead of migration to the new model.
The project will be the first UK migration to Esri’s new ArcGIS Utility Network platform, which will facilitate creation of a digital twin of the gas distribution network.
Matthew Little, Director of Innovation, Improvement and Information (3iG) at Northern Gas Networks said the firm was looking to embrace digitalisation to discover new efficiencies.
“As well as helping to run our network, projects like this play a vital role in modernising our data and ultimately in preparing us for the transition to a Net Zero economy,” he said.
1Spatial CEO Claire Milverton said the company is delighted to expand its relationship with Northern Gas Networks and to collaborate with Esri UK.
“The project will enhance the quality and completeness of NGN’s data, allowing the organisation to unlock the vast benefits of next generation technologies as they lead the way to deliver on their Digitalisation Strategy goals,” she said.
“The contract highlights the potential expansion opportunities in the utilities sector and exemplifies the breadth and depth of 1Spatial’s capabilities as a leader in data management and migrations.”
