Bridging the Gap with Trimble xFill

By on 29 September, 2016

The Trimble VRS Now correction service is available across much of Australia with an enhanced Trimble xFill feature that now offers uninterrupted back-up service coverage.

Just last year Trimble announced the availability of the Trimble® VRS Now™ service in Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria. In response to industry demand, Trimble expanded the network coverage area to Adelaide and neighbouring localities in South Australia to provide surveyors, civil engineers, geospatial professionals and other industry specialists in these areas with instant access to Real-time Kinematic (RTK) Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) corrections without the need for a base station.

Using both GPS and GLONASS constellations, VRS Now delivers centimeter-level RTK corrections customised for each GNSS receiver’s location anywhere in the network via cellular communications. The Trimble VRS Now service is ideal for a variety of industries needing high precision including survey and construction, mapping and GIS, cadastral, utilities and transportation in areas where good cellular coverage is available.

Plus, users who combine their Trimble VRS Now subscription with enhanced Trimble® xFill® can now continue working uninterrupted on their Trimble R10 or NetR9 Geospatial GNSS receiver if they experience a communication outage. Trimble xFill, powered by Trimble RTX technology, runs seamlessly in the background, automatically bridging the gap if your RTK or VRS correction source is interrupted due to cellular signal disruption or loss of radio connectivity, minimizing downtime and improving productivity. Users just need to purchase a CenterPoint® RTX subscription for use with enhanced Trimble xFill that best suits their needs.

To purchase Trimble VRS Now and CenterPoint RTX services contact a Trimble Authorized Business Partner or Trimble Customer Care at 1800 062 221 or au_corrections@trimble.com.
