The Institute of Navigation’s (ION) mid-year meeting, the International Technical Meeting (ITM), is a conference with a technical program related to positioning, navigation and timing and includes the ION Fellows and Annual Awards presentations.

In 2024, ITM will take place in Long Beach, California, January 22 – 25, 2024, and will be co-located with the Precise Time and Time Interval Systems and Applications Meeting.

A commercial exhibition and pre-conference tutorials will be held in conjunction with the conference.

The 9th International Colloquium on Scientific and Fundamental Aspects of GNSS will bring together members of the European scientific community and their international partners involved in the use of Galileo and other GNSS in their research.

The colloquium will address several major areas of research:

  • Scientific applications in meteorology, geodesy, geodynamics, geophysics, space physics, oceanography, land surface and ecosystem studies.
  • Scientific developments in physics with a potential impact on future GNSS, particularly in testing fundamental laws of physics.
  • Aspects of metrology such as reference frames, on board and ground clocks, precise orbit determination and time and frequency transfer.
  • Scientific aspects of satellite navigation, positioning and its applications.

The Geo Connect Asia Show and Conference has scaled up from its launch in 2020 to become the regional meeting place for the fast expanding geospatial, positioning, digital construction and remote sensing markets.

The third International Association of Geodesy (IAG) Commission 4 Symposium will bring together scientists, researchers and professionals working in the broad field of positioning and its applications.

The symposium will serve as a platform for discussing research that leverages current and emerging positioning techniques and technologies. It aims to provide both practical and theoretical solutions across a wide range of topics.

Discussions will address both technical and institutional aspects of developing GNSS backup systems, integrated positioning solutions, resilient PNT systems, and emerging LEO-based PNT techniques. The symposium will also explore space weather monitoring and forecasting through both ground-based and space-based geodetic observations. Additionally, the application of machine learning and artificial intelligence in geodesy will be examined.

The main topics to be covered include:

  • Multi-frequency and multi-constellation GNSS technique
  • Terrestrial and satellite-based positioning system development
  • Multi-sensor fusion navigation and integrity monitoring
  • Emerging positioning technologies, e.g., resilient PNT and LEO-based PNT

The Positioning, Navigation and Timing 2026 (PNT2026) conference will be held at Sydney’s Royal Randwick Racecourse from 4 to 6 February next year.

Formerly known as the IGNSS Conference, PNT2026 will bring together local and global experts from industry, government, defence and academia to showcase and discuss the latest advancements in GNSS and alternative PNT technologies.

Key industry challenges will be on the agenda, as will applications across the aerospace, defence, smart city, autonomous systems and critical infrastructure sectors, and others.

This will be the first event of its kind since the International GNSS Association (IGNSS) merged with the Australian Institute of Navigation.
