Survey and Spatial New Zealand has put out a call for surveyors to serve as members of the LCS Examinations Panel.

The peak body is seeking expressions of interest from licensed cadastral surveyors (LCS) to join the Panel as examiners.

Members of the panel are able to contribute to the profession by supporting prospective LCS while also helping to maintain the high standards required of the cadastral surveying community.

How to become a LCS Examinations Panel member

Survey and Spatial New Zealand is looking for individuals who:

  • Hold a current LCS qualification with a strong cadastral focus;
  • Have expertise in areas such as land tenure, planning, land development engineering, professional conduct, or related fields;
  • Are able to commit to undertaking examination activity during the examination cycle; and
  • Are available to shadow the examination process during the 2026 cycle in preparation for participation in the 2027 examinations.

In addition to the satisfaction of contributing to the community of New Zealand surveyors, becoming an examiner enables the individual to widen their own network and engage with emerging professionals.

Examiners earn CPD points for their participation and also receive modest reimbursement for their time and contributions.

Expressions of interest should be emailed to admin@surveyspatialnz.org by 1 July 2026.
