Blue Marble Geographics has launched a host of updates and improvements to its versatile GIS platform and point cloud processing module in version 21.1.
The new release features a raster reclassification tool that allows users to update raster values, group values together and set them to a common scale, as well as an improved raster transparency tool.
The vector feature shift functionality has been improved, and speed and processing improvements have been implemented, for features such as the batch conversion/reproject tool, and 2D draw rendering has been optimised.
Some industry-specific upgrades have been included, such as the ability to extract points clasisified as utility poles in Lidar module, and subscription-based access to Blackbeard Tanuki, an online data service for accessing pipeline, well, and lease information.
“We release many silent updates to our software throughout the year but periodically we like to package up a minor release to focus on some of the new features,” said President and CEO Patrick Cunningham.
“Often, new features come from the suggestions of our loyal users, who have helped us develop Global Mapper to the powerful and easy-to-use GIS software it is today.”
