Drone pizza delivery

Geospatial World has a video no an Indian pizza delivery company that has trialled delivering pizza via drones. Gimmick, or the way of the future? You decide.

 

Speaking of UAVs, the  Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) has spoken out against drones after a near-miss with an aircraft in Perth earlier this month, saying that “drones pose risk to aviation safety.

 

The Wall Street Journal has reported that Google will be building a 7” tablet with 3D scanning capabilities, as part of Project Tango.

 

The Guardian reports on the decision of the Malaysian govt. and Immarsat to make the last signals received by satellites from the missing MH370 flight publicly available, so that they may be better scrutinised.

 

The Guardian has also released its latest series of photographs superimposed on top of Google Maps Street View imagery – this time they’re taken from photos of World War II. Google Maps Mania has the skinny.

 

GMM also highlights an Al Jazeera map that examines the history of the South China Sea Disputes.
