TAFE SA is currently seeking a qualified and experienced professional to join its team as a Lecturer Surveying and Spatial Information.
This is a great opportunity for an industry practitioner to join with TAFE SA to share their knowledge, mentor the next generation of surveyors and contribute to the continued development of South Australia’s surveying workforce.
That workforce is playing a vital role in supporting infrastructure delivery, mining and land development in the state. Ensuring students receive locally delivered, high-quality, industry-relevant vocational education is essential to maintaining a skilled and capable workforce for the future.

While preferably a full-time position, individual course units taught by subject matter experts as hourly paid instructors may be considered to ensure the sustainability of the course.
More specifically, experience in the following is required:
- 12d software, Designing Engineering Structures
- Surveying to Department for Infrastructure and Transport Standards
- Using Carlson Photo Capture software
- Using StarNet Least Squares software
- Cadastral surveying
TAFE SA lecturers require a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) with two initial units of the TAE qualification required by February 2027.
The South Australian Government is seeking expressions of interest from suitable applicants who may be interested in completing the required TAE course if it were to be offered on a fee-free basis or through a funded scholarship that covered course fees associated with completing the qualification.
