Bentley Systems has announced a new strategic partnership with Google to integrate the latter’s geospatial content within Bentley’s infrastructure engineering software and digital twin platform.

According to Bentley, by leveraging the engineering data created and managed in its software alongside Google’s geospatial data, AI, analytics and cloud technologies, engineers will be able to better design and manage infrastructure in context and at scale.

Specifically, Bentley software users and developers will now be able to use Google Maps Platform’s geospatial content, including photorealistic 3D Tiles, for producing real-world geospatial context and immersive 3D experiences in their digital workflows.

Bentley recent acquired Cesium, creator of the 3D Tiles open standard used by Google.

“This partnership demonstrates how open standards, such as 3D Tiles, can help infrastructure professionals evolve their practices by leveraging the power of geospatial context,” said Bentley’s CEO, Nicholas Cumins.
