Add PPK to your survey drone

By on 30 July, 2017

New PPK module available from Position Partners reduces or eliminates the need for ground control and upgrades the accuracy of your RPAS.

The Klau Geomatics PPK module combines all the software and hardware you need to upgrade most makes and models of RPAS with survey-grade accuracy.

Post Processed Kinematic (PPK) processes the positioning information after a survey drone has completed a flight. Data is logged in the aircraft and combined with data from the base station when the flight is finished. As a result, there is no risk of data or initialisation loss due to radio link outages. The processing is similar to RTK, however PPK is a little more thorough as it traces back and forth through the data multiple times to give more comprehensive results.

So when it comes to survey-grade results with aerial mapping, PPK delivers reliability and longer range from the base station to give users greater flexibility. By freeing up your survey crew’s time it makes for a more efficient workflow and greater productivity benefits across all photogrammetry tasks.
