In conjunction with GeoNext 2013, the Surveying & Spatial Sciences Institute will host a spatial database workshop, aimed at providing representatives from Commonwealth, State and Local governments, engineering and spatial professionals, and private consulting companies with little-to-no experience in spatial databases, an informal introduction to their concepts and uses.

The aim of the workshop is to: discuss the concept of spatial databases, outlining the issues and solutions these provide; and to provide participants with practical, hands-on exposure to spatial databases.
Participants will leave with data and example queries to fuel their interest in spatial even further.

This workshop is different from other SSSI workshops in that it will take the form of informal discussions with practical hands-on exercises in “Installfest” fashion, and is designed for those with little or no experience with a spatial database.

The workshop will be held the previous day, 26 February, 9am to 4:45pm, at the same venue – Australian Technology Park, Sydney.

For more information, you can download the workshop flyer [PDF] or visit the GeoNext website.
