France’s SBG Systems has released the latest iteration of its dual-frequency RTK inertial sensor.

The third generation of the firm’s miniature inertial sensor line now features a 64-bit architecture, facilitating high precision signal processing, according to SBG.

All four units in the new Ellipse line up are based on this architecture, and feature a dual-frequency, quad constellations GNSS receiver for centimetric positioning capability and higher orientation accuracy.

The new product line contains four models: the Ellipse-A motion sensor, Ellipse-E provides navigation with an external GNSS receiver,  Ellipse-N is a single antenna RTK GNSS/INS and the Ellipse-D is a dual-antenna RTK GNSS/INS.

SBG says that the Ellipse-D offers the best price/performance/size ratio with its dual antenna capability, and capability of 0.05° attitude and 0.2° heading accuracy.

All models are available in an aluminium enclosure or a naked, 17-gram form factor for OEM applications, and come with a two-year warranty.
