Septentrio rolls out surface-mount mosaic-X5 receiver

By on 25 March, 2020

Septentrio’s latest receiver aims to bring precision to high-volume applications.

The firm’s pint-sized mosaic-X5 brings high precision, multi-constellation positioning in a streamlined form factor with ultra-low power consumption.

The new device is aimed at applications in robotics, telematics, wearable and automation, according to material released by Septentrio.

The little x5 can receive signals from GPS, European Galileo, Russian GLONASS, Chinese BeiDou, Japanese QZSS, Indian NavIC and L-Band satellites, and is protected from spoofing and jamming by Septentrio’s Advanced Interference Mitigation (AIM+) tech.

“For smooth, uninterrupted operation in the field mosaic-X5 is the logical choice for an industrial-grade GNSS positioning module,” said Francois Freulon, Head of Product Management at Septentrio.

“In an industrial setting the cost of equipment downtime can quickly get out of hand. We designed mosaic TM to be robust in difficult environments, ensuring continuous operation as well as quick set-up times for our customers.”
