New tools to assist processing of large projects cap off a list of new features in Virtual Surveyor 6.2.

The Belgian firm is keen to emphasise the new release’s expanded processing capabilities,  chiefly through a new clipping and mosaicking tool that allowing users to merge multiple smaller, processed portions of orthophotos and digital surface models together — allowing the processing of larger projects on thew same underlying hardware.

“Our objective with Version 6.2 is to make our users more productive while saving them money by eliminating the need to invest in new hardware or processing services,” said Tom Op ‘t Eyndt, CEO of Virtual Surveyor.

“We have addressed the fact that drones are capturing more data at higher resolution, resulting in enormous files sizes.”

The new release also features a 3D flythrough capability, enabling users to create animated ‘movies’ through their terrain model, improved surface handling for volume calculation and a concave hull extraction tool for creating a curved roadway in a series of clicks.

Improved boundary selection capabilities for removing unwanted features more efficiently, and a new sequential numbering tool round out the new tools in this update to the venerable suite.
