SSSI NSW convenes around ‘Earth – Air – Fire – Water’ theme in 2018

By on 24 October, 2018

The Surveying & Spatial Sciences Institute (SSSI) of NSW is now accepting registrations for its 2018 regional conference, taking place in Wollongong on November 14-16.

The organisers say that from monitoring weather systems using small IoT devices to sending multi million dollar satellites into space, work in the spatial sciences is an inherently multidisciplinary pursuit, with myriad applications in and beyond the terrestrial biosphere — an observation they seek to express in the conference theme.

Registrations are now open for delegates and abstracts for presentations around the theme of ‘Earth – Air – Fire – Water’.

The conference program features surveying and spatial streams, with presentations from NSW Surveyor General Narelle Underwood, the NSW Emergency Information Coordination Unit, Dr. Craig Roberts, and Eric Sharpham of NSW Spatial Services among many others.

The SSSI NSW regional conference will also incorporate the NSW Asia-Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards.
