Facebook ANZ head of policy to speak at Locate15

The Head of Policy at Facebook Australia and New Zealand, Mia Garlick, has been confirmed as the Closing Speaker at the Locate15 Conference being held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre 10-12 March.

Mia’s presentation will be entitled Patterns & Future Trends in Social Media.

Prior to joining Facebook, Mia Garlick was Assistant Secretary for Digital Economy and Convergence Strategy at the Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy. Mia joined the department shortly after returning from Silicon Valley where she lived for five years and where her work included being the Product Counsel for YouTube and General Counsel for the non-profit Creative Commons.

She has a Master of Laws from Stanford Law School and a Bachelor of Law and Arts from the University of New South Wales.
