Hexagon Mining

Hexagon has combined some of its brands to form a new company, Hexagon Mining.

Hexagon Mining is aiming to solve critical surface and underground challenges by integrating design, planning, and operations technologies for safer, more productive mines.

Combining the technologies of MineSight, Devex Mining, Leica Geosystems Mining, and SAFEmine, Hexagon Mining will link mine planning, design, fleet and production management, optimisation, fatigue monitoring, and collision-avoidance systems for a comprehensive flow of data across all operations.

“As high-grade ores become scarcer and profit margins tighten, the consolidated experience and expertise offered by Hexagon Mining could not be more timely,” said Hexagon President and CEO Ola Rollén.

“Hexagon Mining offers a smarter way to mine. “Productive mines recognise that technology is essential to their success. Companies will need to be smarter, safer, and quicker to respond to change. Their future depends on it.”

Headquartered in Tucson, Arizona, USA, with more than 30 offices across five continents, the company is a network of mining professionals delivering technology, service, and support.

Hexagon Mining brands include:

  • MineSight, based in Tucson, represents a modelling and mine planning platform, offering integrated solutions for exploration, modelling, design, scheduling, and operation.
  • Brazil-based Devex Mining delivers underground fleet and production management, process control, personnel safety, business intelligence and analytics, and advanced 3D visualisation.
  • Co-headquartered in Brisbane, Australia, and Tucson, Leica Geosystems Mining delivers solutions for open pit fleet and production optimisation, high-precision machine guidance, machine maintenance, business intelligence, and business analytics.
  • Based in Baar, Switzerland, SAFEmine offers collision avoidance and fatigue monitoring systems, delivering extensible solutions designed to save lives.

In addition to its presence at Mining Indaba, Hexagon Mining will feature in many more events in 2015, including the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration (SME) conference in Denver, Feb. 15-18, followed by global MineQuest events and HxGN LIVE, Hexagon’s annual international conference, in Las Vegas and Hong Kong.
