The call has gone out for young surveying professionals to consider becoming involved in organising the 9th International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) Young Surveyors Conference.

The conference, to be held by FIG in collaboration with the Geospatial Council of Australia, will be part of the joint FIG Working Week 2025 / Locate25 conference in Brisbane in April, 2025.

By becoming a volunteer, participants will be able to gain valuable experience in the planning of events while also making potentially lifelong contacts with an international network of passionate young professionals.

People with all sorts of skills are being encouraged to get involved, such as those who have talent in communication, logistics and social media.

Applications can be made via an online form. Enquiries can be directed to fig.youngsurveyors@gmail.com.

The FIG Young Surveyors Network was established in 2006 with the aim of creating an environment that encourages the active participation of young surveyors in the work of FIG, as well as its 10 commissions.
