VANZI Ltd, the driving force behind a landmark virtual world concept, is holding its inaugural conference in Sydney on 13-14 May, 2013.
It will be a world first that it brings together both ‘spatial’ and ‘building’ modelling technologists, with government and private sector users, to consider the legal framework needed to provide certainty, privacy and security in the Virtual World:
“An Authorised Federated Fully-integrated Secure 3D Computer Model of the natural and built environment (inside and out, above and below ground) – for use in all property-related activities. PLUS, all Legal Entitlements relating to each property”
We have the technical capability to build this virtual world progressively over the next 5-10-20 years – at relatively little cost. In fact, it is expected that all government and commercial buildings will have their own 3D model within 5 years, with many private leaseholds and residences also being modelled in that time.
Many cities, both in Australia and overseas, already have 3D models of their external form. Philadelphia in the US is even building internal 3D models of its public buildings and underground service tunnels. All major – and most smaller – new buildings are also now modelled in 3D for design and construction.
What is missing is recognition that most of the built environment already exists, and is in private hands, where issues of privacy and security become paramount.
The principle that VANZ is built upon is applicable for all jurisdictions around the globe:
“rights in the virtual = rights in the real”

Anyone involved in any aspect of the ‘property’ sector needs to come along to the Conference:
- To understand the changes and challenges that are coming your way (with or without VANZ)
- To learn how VANZ can help to solve many of the challenges you face
- To learn how it can be implemented and who will pay
- To help promote a Uniform Legal Framework across Australia & New Zealand (and Globally)
- To develop and improve your own organization’s capability to take advantage of the fast evolving technologies, and the emerging VANZ Framework.
- To see what your suppliers, customers and competitors are doing, as well as government.
The conference will be held in Sydney at the Australian Technology Park on the 13th and 14th May. More information on the conference, including speakers, registration, and sponsorship, is available at the VANZ conference website.
