Trimble’s new SX10 scanning total station redefines surveying

Trimble has released its next-generation survey instrument—the Trimble SX10 Scanning Total Station.

Merging high-speed 3D scanning, enhanced Trimble VISION imaging technology and high-accuracy total station measurements, the SX10 arms surveyors and geospatial professionals with the tools to handle more projects, from traditional surveys to complex 3D modelling.

dsc00455-editThe SX10 comes with Trimble’s patented technology that enables the capture of both high-accuracy measurements critical for traditional survey projects and rich point cloud data at 26,600 points per second with a range of up to 600 meters. As a result, surveyors can now include 3D scanning into existing workflows to increase productivity and versatility.

In combining 3D scanning and surveying, the SX10 removes the need for a separate instrumentation, saving significant costs and expanding crew capabilities to include as-builts, utility design surveys and forensic reconstruction.

Integration with new versions of Trimble’s Access version 2016.10 software for field and office allows users to quickly and easily operate the SX10 within common workflows. With Trimble software on the Trimble Tablet, users can also harness the full potential of the SX10 in the field for customised workflow routines.

Supported by Trimble Business Center version 3.80 and its automated extraction functionality, the package allows users to more rapidly deliver customer deliverables.
