The Ministry is currently exploring how resource management information can be better collected and shared. As part of this process, it is seeking information on potential solutions that will enable its outcomes for electronic information collection, sharing and analysis to be achieved. Ultimately, it seeks development and implementation of a solution to support a national monitoring system for the NZ Resource Management Act 1991. The project includes monitoring the implementation of the Act, including assessing how its various functions, tools and processes are performing, which is critical to helping understand whether the RMA is working as intended and what changes might be necessary to ensure the best outcomes are achieved.
