SSSC2013-preconf_630

SSSC2013 aims to provide a balance of practical and technical workshops and conference sessions, arming attendees with a “take away” kit of new ideas, techniques and tricks. The program is complemented by the extensive exhibition showcasing the leaders of our industry.

Pre-conference workshops will run Monday 15 & Tuesday 16 April, and will provide an opportunity for you to immerse yourself in new technologies and concepts, or to be involved in industry and government initiatives. They are either half or full day events hosted by key companies including: 1Spatial; Aerometrex; AHS; Caris; Intergraph; K2 Recruitment; Pitney Bowes Software; SSSI’s SIC Commission and History & Heritage SIG.

The workshops are booking up quickly, read about these great sessions in greater depth by downloading the workshop summary.

Our young professionals

Young professionals are the future of the industry, and we encourage their participation in SSSC. Two specific events are planned for them, and to provide an opportunity for members of the commissions and young professionals to meet and network.

Our young professionals will attempt to unravel the mysteries of O’Malley’s peg on Tuesday 16 April. Using state of the art spatial technologies supplied by CR Kennedy, they will attempt to find the exact position where the small wooden peg was driven into the ground. Will it prove to be some symbolic commencement point for the city of Canberra? Ors some random spot on Capital Hill where the light was good for photography?

The outcome will announced at the YP Event within the Exhibition Hall on Wednesday 17 April.

The SSSC 2013 conference will run from 15-19 April at National Convention Centre in Canberra. For more information and registration, visit www.sssc2013.org.
