CommunityNotes

Sydney geospatial startup, Rüppells Griffon, has released a new web mapping tool that allows organisations to collect, visualise and analyse feedback from communities.

CommunityNotes is multi-platform tool designed to allow organisations such as councils, governments and land developers to handle location-based information from various community stakeholders. The app version allows feedback to be collected in the field, so that specific geographical information can be easily communicated and translated.

CommunityNotes enables engagement processes such as forms to gather stakeholder information, about pages with more information regarding the project and maps to visualise the location of the project.

Customisation tools allow company branding, colour schemes and configuarations. It also permits advanced analysis through the support of base layers and spatial data.

CommunityNotes was fully developed in-house by Sydney geospatial company Rüppells Griffon. Co-founder and director, Ana Ouriques, said that the team worked closely with community consultants to ensure the app met their needs and requirements.

“The two most common complaints were that community engagement takes too long and costs too much,” said Ana. “So we worked on solving both of those issues in CommunityNotes.”

A live demo of CommuintyNotes is available on the CommunityNotes website.
