SSSI is holding a workshop in Sydney on September 23 that will focus on metadata and SDI standards and management; and the implementation of metadata and data catalogues in various organisations.
The Morning talks and workshops will focus on metadata and SDI standards and management; different options on how to manage spatial data infrastructures from the smaller council / organisations with a few custodian datasets to a large organisation with multiple custodians and datasets will be discussed.
The afternoon talks and forum will concern the implementation of metadata and data catalogues in various organisations (both large and small), using a variety of solutions.
The goals of the workshop include:
• Discuss management of SDI and demonstrate use of metadata in the data catalogues that support spatial data infrastructures
• Presentations on the use and application of metadata in small and large organisations
