The new office will provide direct RIEGL representation throughout Australia and New Zealand, offering full support to its existing RIEGL distributors in Australia C.R. Kennedy, and in New Zealand, Geospace.

RIEGL Australia will have a primary focus on the airborne/UAV sectors, whilst our partners will continue to drive terrestrial and mobile products into various industries in the market. Working together, RIEGL Australia will ensure all customers, at all times to have the level of support to match the quality of technology that RIEGL offers.

The main RIEGL Australia office is helmed by Glenne Blyth, who serves as the managing director of the operation on the Gold Coast, Queensland, alongside with Bernhard Kurzbauer, Commercial Director. Mr. Blyth (BComm, BSurv) is an industry expert who is well recognized and experienced in the field of laser scanning. He had been with C.R. Kennedy as a national laser scanning consultant since 2014 before stepping into his new position. Mr. Kurzbauer is supporting the expansion plans of RIEGL worldwide and has a strong background in finance, law and controlling.

“We are very excited to further increase our global presence by opening our new office in Australia! We would like to thank our many loyal customers in Australia and New Zealand encouraging us to take this next step in our growth strategy. Thanks also to our long-term partner C.R. Kennedy for their support in this project, and congratulations and all the best to Glenne Blyth for his new responsibility and for growing RIEGL in Australia and New Zealand to new levels” commented Johannes Riegl Jr, President of RIEGL International, the RIEGL division responsible for the worldwide expansion of the company.

“The laser scanning market in our local region has grown from strength to strength in recent years. With a booming resource sector and rapid population growth fueling a spike in infrastructure development and construction, spatial data consumption has never been greater. The surveying and mapping markets are well matured and spatial professionals know the benefits of investing in high quality and reliable instrumentation with local support. It is for these key reasons that RIEGL Australia has been founded, and why I believe it will be a strong success” stated Glenne Blyth, RIEGL Australia’s Managing Director.

The new subsidiary is joining the existing network of RIEGL offices in Austria (Headquarters), the United States, Japan and China, as well as numerous worldwide distributors.
