Sensis acquires Quotify service

By on 3 February, 2011

Sensis has acquired one of Australia's largest providers of request for quote services, Life Events Media, in a move which could see it link quotes to online services and digital maps.

LEM operates the online business 'Quotify', which compares quotes for various services. The quotes could then be provided as part of data shown on a Google Map search – Google Maps recently switched to using Sensis data.

Robert Rath, Sensis Digital General Manager said the move would help SMEs advertise their services better and compete.

"Today, with the explosion of technology and advertising channels and the popularity of digital devices, Yellow Pages offers small businesses a growing range of marketing solutions across print, online, voice and mobile services, search engines and online mapping sites, new devices such as the iPhone, iPad, Android devices and Telstra's T-Hub, and satellite navigation devices, to help deliver more customers through their doors," he said.

Quotify provides post engagement advice including a feedback mechanism and a log-in section so consumers see a suppliers rating before they choose to use them.

The Quotify network of websites currently receives large volumes of traffic and has, to date, sent more than 320,000 leads to businesses across Australia.
