Organisers are calling this year’s event “Singapore Geospatial Week+ 2020”, signifying the fact that they are stretching the event to two full weeks of webinars in a special virtual edition taking place from 7-18 September 2020.

Singapore Geospatial Week+ 2020 is intended to bring the geospatial community, including public and private sectors as well as the community-at-large, together for  activities promoting the use of GPS/location-based and mapping innovation. The event is organised by GeoWorks, Singapore Land Authority’s geospatial industry centre.

Spatial Source editor Dan Bishton will be involved in the virtual gathering this year as moderator of a special panel discussion scheduled for 12noon AEST on 17 September, titled “Geospatial technologies: a catalyst for sustainable infrastructure development. The panel discussion is a collaboration with Geo Connect Asia 2021, and will feature representatives from AECOM, Bentley and ASEAN FLAG.

There are 60 webinars total planned for the two week affair, covering 4 industry tracks:

  • Build & Infrastructure
  • Real Estate & Retail
  • Mobility & Logistics
  • Urban & Environment

The virtual event will also feature what organisers are calling ‘GeoMarketplace’ sessions that will showcase geospatial talks and product demos from drone solutions to spatial data analytics, autonomous vehicles and more, plus an open house featuring COVID-19 themed sessions, VR/AR talks, GeoLightning Talks, developer workshops, GeoWomen.

More information about the event is available on the event website.
