Scholarships available for surveying, GIS students

For 2023, the University of Southern Queensland is offering one Surveying Honours Year Scholarship to support a student who has recently completed the Bachelor of Spatial Science Technology (Surveying) and is now commencing their (Honours) year in the Bachelor of Spatial Science (Honours) (Surveying).

Established by the Institute of Surveyors Australia (Qld) Bicentennial Education Fund, the scholarship will assist students to continue and complete their fourth (Honours) year of study.

The scholarship will have a maximum value of $8,000 and will be paid in two instalments.

Applications close on 13 November.

In New Zealand, applications are now open for Toitū Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand scholarships tertiary students in geospatial study in 2023.

Each scholarship is up to a maximum of NZ$5,000 for undergraduate or postgraduate fees for GIS-related courses or research undertaken during the period of the scholarship.

Students heading into their second year or beyond can apply for a scholarship under the program.

“Toitū Te Whenua is pleased to offer these scholarships to recognise the importance of high-value geographic and property information to our economy, environment and society now, and into the future,” said Head of Location Information, Aaron Jordan.

Applications close on 13 November.
