The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors has announced the appointment of Nicky Bowen as Market Director for the Asia Pacific region.
Her role with RICS will include supporting the organisation’s mission to elevate standards and strengthen professional capability across the built-environment sector in APAC.
Bowen has more than a decade of international leadership experience across APAC, EMEA and the Americas.
She most recently served as Managing Director, APAC, and Global Head of Content & Solutions at Tigerhall, a Singapore-founded workforce transformation platform.
Prior to that, shespent eight years at The Economist Group in London and Singapore, ultimately serving as Global Head of Programs.
In that role, Bowen led international teams delivering policy and research initiatives for corporate, government and academic partners, covering themes such as sustainability, climate risk, global trade and ocean policy.
“It’s a privilege to join RICS and lead our work in APAC, at a time of positive transformation for both the organisation and across the diverse built and natural environments in the region,” said Bowen.
“I look forward to building even closer connections with our members, industry partners and policymakers to expand the value RICS brings to the profession and create meaningful impact across the region.”
Construction forum
RICS recently took part in the Australian Construction Industry Forum (ACIF) meeting in Parliament House in the last week of November. The ACIF was celebrating its 25th anniversary.
Other peak bodies represented included the Australasian Procurement & Construction Council Inc, Consult Australia, Association of Consulting Architects, Surveyors Australia, Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors, Australian Institute of Architects, Australian Sustainable Built Environment Council (ASBEC), Master Electricians Australia, and the National Association of Women in Construction.

Attendees were able to engage with key government ministers and shadow ministers for the built environment, including: Clare O’Neil, Minister for Housing, Homelessness and Cities; Andrew Leigh MP; Ed Husic MP; Infrastructure and Transport Minister, Catherine King; the Hon. Dr. Anne Aly; Senator Matt O’Sullivan; the Hon Bridget McKenzie; and Shadow Minister for Industry and Innovation, Alex Hawke.
The event was an opportunity to discuss the challenges the sector is facing, such as the dire shortage of surveyors.
