3D positioning solutions company Position Partners has extended its solution portfolio to include Autodesk software technology for the construction, engineering, architecture, surveying, and mining industries. The company will offer Autodesk solutions across Australia and New Zealand.

“We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Autodesk, the world leader in 3D design, engineering and entertainment software and services,” said Martin Nix, Position Partners CEO.

“Customers will now have access to integrated, end-to-end solutions from a single provider, with Autodesk software complementing a wide range of our hardware systems, including laser scanners, Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), layout and measurement tools and mobile mapping technology.

“It is an exciting time for many of our core industries, with 3D documentation becoming a widely adopted and necessary process in the construction lifecycle,” Mr Nix added. “Many customers still have questions about how the technology can be integrated into their workflow and we believe that by delivering a combination of hardware, software, support and training, Position Partners can provide the answers.”

Under the Value Added Reseller agreement, Position Partners will sell and support Autodesk solutions for infrastructure, Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Computer Aided Design (CAD) applications, including Building and Infrastructure Design Suites, AutoCAD, Revit, Civil3D, ReCap, and Navisworks.

Position Partners is a Silver Sponsor of the Autodesk University conference, held this week on the 10–11 November at the Westin Hotel, Sydney, where it showcased a range of UAS, scanning and BIM hardware solutions along with Autodesk software platforms.

“Autodesk is pleased to welcome Position Partners to the Autodesk community,” said Rob Malkin, Autodesk AEC/ENI APAC sales director. “The opportunity for us to partner with Australia’s leading provider of positioning and geospatial solutions for surveying, civil contracting, mining and building solutions is obviously a mutually beneficial partnership.

“Customers will benefit from the nationwide network of sales and technical staff Position Partners can offer,” he added. “With more than 200 staff and offices in every state and territory in Australia and New Zealand, Position Partners is well resourced to support the addition of Autodesk solutions to their comprehensive portfolio of adjacent products and services.”
