Phase One Industrial, a manufacturer and provider of medium-format aerial and industrial digital photography equipment, recently announced the iXA 160 Achromatic aerial camera system.

The core of the Phase One iXA 160 Achromatic is a 60 MP sensor that offers high sensitivity to visible light, including UV and IR ranges. The iXA 160 Achromatic’s increased light sensitivity also delivers a base ISO of 200, enabling an enhanced ISO range of 200-3200.

The release of the iXA 160 Achromatic enables NIR digital photogrammetry for Phase One aerial systems. Used in single camera configuration, the iXA 160 Achromatic offers excellent IR visibility.  When used in dual-camera configuration, in conjunction with a colour filter array sensor used in the iXA 160 and iXA 180, the iXA 160 Achromatic captures NIR images that can be combined with RGB images to create co-registered four-band (RGBN) imagery.

Dov Kalinski, General Manager of Phase One Industrial said, “We are pleased that the Phase One iXA 160 Achromatic can provide our clients with access to NIR digital photogrammetry applications. Increased light sensitivity and a higher base ISO enhance lowlight capture, thereby expanding options for flight time planning.”

All Phase One iXA aerial cameras are optimised for multiple camera configuration, enabling synchronised captures within 100 microseconds of each other and minimizing the need for post-production corrections.

The Phase One iXA’s rugged construction incorporates 6061 aluminium alloy. The Phase One iXA features a wide selection of Schneider-Kreuznach lenses with central embedded shutters in focal lengths of 28 mm, 55 mm, 80 mm, 110 mm, 150 mm and 240 mm as well as Phase One’s entire range of digital lenses.

The Phase One iXA is supported by Phase One SDK software, which provides full control over the entire control and capture sequence.

The iXA 160 Achromatic can be ordered now from an authorized Phase One Industrial representative, and is available either with an IR cutoff filter or with clear glass.
