The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) has launched a pilot 3D IoT platform for smart cities, and is inviting members and non-members alike to participate.

According to the OGC, ‘Participants in this OGC pilot will connect their technology and expertise with real city needs while collaborating with other participants to advance open standards for Smart Cities. The outcomes are expected to facilitate and standardise the access to environmental, building, and internet of things (IoT) data in Smart Cities.’

The project is sponsored by the Korea Land and Housing (LH) Corporation, which leads the Sejong Smart City initiative, with the project focusing on two initiatives: focus on two scenarios: real-time monitoring of indoor occupancy; and real-time monitoring of micro-dust air pollutants.
