More speakers announced for IGNSS 2024

More details have been released about the speaker program for the International GNSS Association (IGNSS) 2024 conference, which will be held in Sydney from 7 to 9 February 2024.

The Association has announced that the following industry experts will make presentations at the conference:

  • Professor Jade Morton, Colorado Center for Astrodynamics
  • Bryan Chan, Co-Founder, Xona Space Systems
  • Michael Milford, Director, QUT Centre for Robotics
  • Nunzio Gambale, CEO & Co-Founder, Locata Corporation

It had previously been announced that Dr Bradford Parkinson, the chief architect of GPS, will give the opening keynote address. Dr Parkinson was the first Director of the GPS Joint Program Office on the developments that led to the system we now take for granted. He will speak via video from his home in California about the story behind the technical and organisational issues that he and his team faced in those early days of GPS.

Additionally, the US Civil GPS Service Interface Committee (CGSIC) will hold a meeting of its International Information Subcommittee (IISC) as part of the conference. This will see several top US government PNT experts adding to the program.

IGNSS2024 will both a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the initiation of the GPS program and a look ahead to the next 50 years.

It will also showcase the Southern Positioning Augmentation Network (SouthPAN) and other important developments from governments in the region, along with updates from the major GNSS providers.
