Melbourne Water chooses Geomatic

By on 28 September, 2010

Melbourne Water has selected Geomatic Technologies to help deliver its Spatial Database Renewal Project, according to Geomatic’s newsletter.

Melbourne Water Corporation is responsible for maintaining Melbourne’s $8.4bn of water supply assets.

Geomatic Technologies will help the authority implement and integrate a core spatial data storage, integration and access suite based on open standards.

The project will also implement an asset spatial data maintenance solution to improve the consistency of data used by a number of systems and six hundred users across the organisation.

The system will use GT MARS, Oracle and Melbourne Water’s existing edit client to minimise impact and change for users.

Melbourne Water will use the system for all future projects requiring access to spatial data.
