Pitney Bowes Software recently announced the release of MapInfo Professional 11.5, the latest version of the company’s application for desktop mapping analysis. MapInfo Professional is a Location Intelligence application for GIS professionals and business analysts.
Version 11.5 sees improvements to the table browser introduced in version 11.0 to facilitate faster tabular data entry, editing and navigation. Working with large data sets can be challenging, so being able to easily sort and filter tabular data allows users to easily find and view the data they’re looking for. Users could, for example, show all customers whose policies are due within a certain date range, or show assets that are due for inspection in the next two weeks.
Greater map production quality is now possible with the new legend designer, which gives users much more control over the design and format of their cartographic legends. The function buttons on the legend designer offer easy access to zoom, grids, guidelines and other options.
MapInfo portfolio enhancements have been made with the integration between MapInfo Professional and MapInfo Manager further enhanced to improve efficiency. Now data custodians can maintain their spatial data infrastructure in MapInfo Manager through direct metadata edits from within MapInfo Professional 11.5. For greater collaboration, users can also now publish data to MapInfo Stratus directly from within MapInfo Professional, simplifying data publication choices.
Sean Richards, Director of Product Management APAC, states “Pitney Bowes Software remains committed to the fundamentals in MapInfo Professional as a powerful yet accessible analyst package: ability to analyse big data, high quality map production and easy options to collaborate. This release delivers improvements in all three areas.”
MapInfo Professional 11.5, and its location intelligence capabilities, helps organisations understand their business, analyse trends geographically and make critical decisions with greater clarity of risk and opportunity. For more information on MapInfo Professional visit www.mapinfopro.com.au.
