Locate26 submission deadlines fast approaching

The 10th Digital Earth Summit + Locate26 event will be held from 24 to 26 November 2026.

The deadlines for Locate26 session proposals and abstracts submissions are fast approaching.

The joint 10th Digital Earth Summit + Locate26 event will be held in Melbourne from 24 to 26 November 2026, bringing together professionals from across the geospatial, space and digital Earth sectors.

More than 700 delegates from Australia and around the world are expected to attend, along with 50-plus exhibitors, for three days of discussion, debate and learning.

Confirmed featured speakers already include:

  • Prof Huadong Guo, Honorary President, International Society for Digital Earth (ISDE)
  • Ms Melissa Harris, Chief Executive Officer, Geoscience Australia
  • Mr Shoaib Iqbal, CEO, Esper Satellites
  • Prof Allison Kealy, Director of the Innovative Planet Research Institute, Swinburne University
  • Prof Andy Koronios, CEO and Managing Director, SmartSat CRC, and the Australasian Space Innovation Institute (ASII)
  • Dr Stuart Minchin, CEO and Director of Meteorology, Bureau of Meteorology
  • Mr Aamir Qutub, Founder, Enterprise Monkey
  • Dr Maree Wilson, Chief of Place and Communities Division, Geoscience Australia

Program, plus session and abstract submissions

The basic program outline has been set, with the daily features and themes being as follows:

Tuesday, 24 November

  • Digital Earth Summit stream
  • Optional workshops (included in full conference registration fees)
  • Free exhibition showcase
  • Esri Australia welcome reception

Wednesday, 25 November

  • Opening ceremony and joint plenary
  • Future of the geospatial sector panel
  • Concurrent streams across ISDE, Locate, research and surveying
  • Industry recognition awards session

Thursday 26, November

  • Business forum and surveyor-general forum
  • Industry disruption and future roadmaps
  • Closing ceremony

As the program takes shape, conference organisers are seeking input from industry, government, academia and emerging professionals, who want to share their insights, research or innovations.

Those wishing to submit proposals for sessions need to do so by 1 June, while the deadline for abstract submissions is 30 June.

Registration and sponsorship

While registration is still a long way away, those interested in attending can register their interest via an online form.

And businesses and organisations interested in taking up one of the many sponsorship opportunities are being encouraged to get in early by emailing sponsorship@locateconfererence.com.au.
