Leading east and west surveying companies unite

Western Australia-based survey and spatial solutions specialist McMullen Nolan Group (MNG) has joined forces with leading Victorian surveying group Heading & Associates, to establish a new joint venture – MNG Heading.

Based in Kensington, Victoria, MNG Heading will see the complementary expertise of both companies amalgamated to unlock future business opportunities throughout Victoria and eastern Australia.

Specifically MNG Heading will focus upon the greenfields land development market in Melbourne.

MNG and Heading & Associates will continue to operate their respective businesses autonomously throughout the remainder of Australia.

Scott Anderson, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of MNG, says he is excited about the business possibilities that lie ahead.

“Heading & Associates brings a strong infrastructure portfolio to the table plus local land development experience covering a wide client base,” says Mr Anderson. “MNG balances this nicely with its brand, industry experience and knowledge.”

MNG’s innovative use of 3D reality technology was the subject in the cover story in the February/March 2016 of Position magazine (read online).

Maurice Heading, Managing Director of Heading & Associates, says the joint venture is a strategic step for both organisations to capitalise on the growth of eastern Australia, particularly in Victoria which has witnessed exceptional growth rates in the past few years, with Melbourne forecast to surpass Sydney’s population by 2056.

“Our focus now in relation to our newly formed business is firmly on providing a highly customised service to new and existing land developers across Victoria.” he says.

Rob Kiernan from MNG has been appointed General Manager, reporting to the MNG Heading company directors Mr Maurice Heading and Mr Scott Anderson.

Three MNG field parties are already working with Heading & Associates on various projects in Melbourne, with more personnel expected to be called upon as demand dictates.

MNG provides a complete spectrum of surveying and spatial solutions, including land development surveys, cadastral surveys, strata titles, resources and infrastructure surveys, 3D terrestrial and mobile laser scanning, advanced subsurface investigation, mapping services, hydrographic surveys and geographic information systems (GIS).

Heading & Associates specialise in a variety of survey and engineering services. They continue to provide cadastral surveys, terrestrial laser scanning, survey project management and construction supervision, property and environmental survey, design applications complex structures and automatic deformation monitoring systems.
