Mr Gerard Ryan has been appointed as Parsons Brinckerhoff’s new Regional Director for Queensland.

Parsons Brinckerhoff managing director for the Australia-Pacific operations, Mr Mark Dimmock, said Mr Ryan has a long and proud history with the company and with Queensland.

‘Currently Client Director for Transport in Queensland, Gerard has 20 years of experience with Parsons Brinckerhoff, and a strong track record in the delivery of complex transport projects.

‘Gerard has had key roles in projects including the Ipswich Motorway Dinmore to Goodna (Origin Alliance); the 110km Bauhinia Regional Rail Project at Rolleston, the first Port of Brisbane Motorway Alliance; the North South Bypass Tunnel (CLEM7); six and eight lane upgrades of the Bruce Highway; and the Tugun Bypass Preliminary Design and EIS.

‘Using this depth of experience, Gerard will lead our work in Queensland with a regional strategy based on high performance and client focus,’ said Mr Dimmock.

Mr Ryan sees significant opportunity in his new role and in Queensland.

‘Over the coming months I will continue my face-to-face meetings with our clients and stakeholders across the business, and I look forward to working with them to develop solutions that respond to their needs.

‘Part of supporting local business and clients is also about reinvigorating our corporate sustainability program in Queensland with activities such as the celebration of Reconciliation Week and the company’s Corporate Responsibility Awareness Month in May.’ said Mr Ryan.

Mr Ryan has a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from the Queensland University of Technology and a Graduate Diploma in Technology Management from Deakin University. He is a member of Engineers Australia and the Australian Institute of Traffic Planning and Management and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Mr Ryan replaces Mr Denis Cook, who retired in March 2013 after more than 40 years of work, including seven years with Parsons Brinckerhoff and, prior to this, six years as Queensland Deputy Coordinator-General.
