By on 14 April, 2015

gvSIG Association, in collaboration with GISMAP, is offering a free MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) entitled ‘gvSIG for Users.’

The source will lead participants on how to use the open source software gvSIG to its full extent, while performing the most common GIS activities. This course is aimed towards both beginners and skilled GIS users who want to learn how to use this software.

No advanced knowledge in computer science is required; participant needs just a personal computer, an internet connection and to register on the gvSIG Training website.

The Course is open in continuous form and each module requires a participant’s engagement of around thirty hours. Participants can thus individually plan the time to allocate to the course and complete all the scheduled activities without interfering with their daily work.

After each topic the participants have to perform a multiple choice test leading to the achievement of a free certificate of attendance.  All Course participants will have access, for each single topic, to short downloadable videos through a private youtube channel.

This Course is completely free of charge except for those participants asking for the corresponding credits of the gvSIG user certification program from the gvSIG Association, that is submitted to the payment of 40 Euros for each module or 100 Euros for the whole cycle.

More information, including registration, is available on the gvSIG Training website.
