FrontierSI and the Australian Geospatial-Intelligence Organisation (AGO) have launched the latest challenge in the AGO Labs Program, with a focus on marine spatial solutions.
The AGO Labs Program aims to find ways for the AGO to better engage and work with industry and attract a wider pool of companies and technologies to draw on for automated geospatial intelligence.
The current round involves finding solutions to two key challenges:
- Waves detection: Developing a process to automatically identify and locate internal waves in the ocean over time and in near-real time.
- Water column analysis: Modernising and enriching data used to understand the water column.
Proof-of-concept projects will be funded with a budget of up to $100,000, with successful applicants to work closely with the AGO and Defence experts over a four-month period.
“This latest opportunity assists AGO to extend its geospatial-intelligence capability and continue to access innovative companies to trial new technology approaches,” said FrontierSI’s CEO, Graeme Kernich.
“At the same time, the AGO Labs program enables businesses to showcase their skillsets to AGO in a commercial and secure but unclassified environment.”
The program is open to industry and academic applicants from Australia and New Zealand, and submissions are due by 10:00am AEST on Monday, 8 July 2024. An information webinar will be held on Wednesday, 26 June 2024 at 10:00am AEST.
