Conference delegates attending the IGNSS2013 symposium and exhibition at the Outrigger Hotel on the Gold Coast next week from Tuesday 16 – Thursday 18 July are cordially invited to the first LEX signal demonstration in Australia.

The LEX signal, being transmitted by the Japanese “Michibiki” satellite allows high accuracy positioning anytime, anywhere in Australia.

A demonstration by experts from JAXA will be presented on Tuesday 16th and a hands-on experience will be offered to IGNSS2013 delegates on Wednesday 17th July.

The Multi-GNSS era is finally underway with more and more satellites from China, Europe, India and Japan joining those from the USA and Russia. Australia is one of the first countries in the world able to benefit from access to all of these systems. So “down under” in July is the ideal place and time to discuss all of these new developments with like-minded colleagues from all over the world.

The first day of the IGNSS symposium will focus on the recently released Australian Strategic Plan for GNSS, which identified several issues crucial for Australia and the region as we enter the Multi-GNSS era. That will involve keynote speakers from Australia and abroad in presentations and panel discussions on issues such as ensuring leadership for the GNSS community, developing sustainable positioning infrastructure, mitigating GNSS vulnerabilities and capitalising on the region’s unique geopolitical advantage in Multi-GNSS.

The broader symposium will provide the usual strong scientific program with oral presentations, panel discussions and interactive poster sessions; all rounded out by a comprehensive trade exhibition. There will, of course, also be social functions to allow you to unwind as you network with your local and international colleagues.

IGNSS2013 will include open forums where users can discuss the implementation and application of GNSS and other location technologies and voice their concerns in an interactive format with representatives from all the satellite system providers, major manufacturers and applications developers.

Conference registration will remain open until Friday 12th July, and is available here.

The full conference program is available here.
