GeoNext is also running a hackfest in conjunction with VicRoads. The competition will take place in the weeks leading up to GeoNext, with the winners announced during the conference. Entry is open to anyone and involves developing new software applications based on VicRoads data to solve transport problems. The best implementation will be awarded a prize and the opportunity to work with VicRoads to further develop the system. GeoNext will also provide access to data and APIs from third party sponsors to allow the development of new concepts into working solutions. Further details about the hackfest will be released through Spatial Source.
