GeoNext 2012 a success

The first ever GeoNext conference wrapped up last Wednesday, after a day of inspiring talks, interesting discussions, fresh ideas, and new concepts.
 
150 delegates from around Australia and New Zealand braved the end-of-summer downpour, coming together to make the day a success.
 
The event focussed on both emerging and established internet technologies, and how they are interacting with, shaping, and influencing geospatial technologies.
 
The event attracted a range of delegates from both traditional geospatial disciplines – such as surveying and GIS – as well as those from the neo-geographer crowd. Together, the interaction of the two sectors were able to inform, connect and inspire.
 
Simon Cooper, managing director of Interpoint Events, the organisers of the conference, said: “With feedback being so positive from both the delegates and the presenters, we will definitely be running another show in 2013.”
