Gary Nairn elected Chair of SIBA

Gary Nairn has been elected as Chair of the Spatial Industries Business Association (SIBA), at the Board meeting in Canberra last week, which coincided with the spatial@gov conference.
 
After 25 years in the surveying and mapping industry, including 13 years as Managing Director of his own business (James Nairn & Co P/L trading as Earl James & Assoc), Gary spent nearly 12 years as the Federal Member for Eden-Monaro.
 
He was appointed as Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister (with responsibilities including water reform and the Science, Engineering & Technology unit in Prime Minister & Cabinet) and later as Special Minister of State 2006-2007 (with responsibilities including e-Government).
 
After departing Parliament in 2007, he established his own consulting business that specialises in business development, spatial information and property matters.
