Fyfe has emerged as the standout winner at the inaugural Northern Territory Excellence in Surveying & Spatial Information (EISSI) Awards.
The Northern Territory’s surveying and spatial profession came together in Darwin on Monday, 31 August to celebrate people, projects and organisations in the profession across the Territory.
Presented by Surveyors Australia, the inaugural awards recognised excellence in innovation, infrastructure and construction, professional achievement and organisational leadership.
It was a big night for professional services and surveying firm Fyfe, which was recognised across project innovation, individual professional achievement and organisational excellence.
Fyfe received the Extra Dimension & Innovation Award for its spool verification surveys in the oil and gas sector, with the project recognised for its innovative approach to surveying, logistics and project delivery.
The company was also named Professional Organisation of the Year, recognising its commitment to its people, clients, the profession and the communities in which it operates.
And Ben Henderson of Fyfe received the Professional Surveyor of the Year award, recognising his professional leadership, commitment to the profession and contribution as a role model and mentor.
Remote Surveys was awarded the Infrastructure & Construction Award for the Sturt Plateau Pipeline. Delivered in the challenging conditions of the Northern Territory, the project demonstrated the expertise, commitment and adaptability required to successfully deliver major infrastructure surveying in a remote environment.
Northern Territory’s time to shine
“The Northern Territory is home to some exceptional surveying professionals, organisations and projects, and these awards give us the opportunity to put a spotlight on that achievement,” said Surveyors Australia’s CEO, Michelle Blicavs.
The event marks the first dedicated EISSI Awards program for the Northern Territory, providing a platform to celebrate the Territory’s achievements in its own right and forming part of the national growth of the EISSI Awards, which were initially established solely in New South Wales almost 30 years ago.
The Northern Territory winners will now progress to the National EISSI Awards in Canberra on 5 February 2027, where they will compete against category winners from across Australia for national honours.

“This is a celebration of the profession here in the Territory, and we hope it inspires even more businesses, project teams and individuals to showcase their achievements in the years ahead.”
