This year’s NSW Regional Conference, hosted by SSSI NSW, and the ISNSW Southern and Central Groups, will be held on Friday, 14th November to Saturday, 15th November at Peppers Craigieburn, Bowral.

The conference’s theme of ‘Cloud Enabled Technology in the Surveying and Spatial World,’ will focus on how surveying and spatial science professionals are using the cloud for their profession. There will be an array of seminars and abstracts that include ‘Get your head out of the cloud and get your data from there!,’ ‘IT @UNSW: Clouding our Education,’ as well as keynote presentations from Andrew Phillips (Amazon Web Services) ‘How to leverage cloud computing and discover business solutions,’ and ‘How the NSW Government is embracing the use of the cloud to deliver spatial data and products’ by Dr. Steven Woodhouse (NSW Land and Property Information).

Additionally, during the lunch breaks of both Friday and Saturday, there will be a live Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) display on the lawns of Peppers Craigieburn. SSSI Titanium Partner C.R. Kennedy will be displaying the capabilities of the Aibotix Hexacoptor that specialises in aerial mapping and dam & bridge inspections.

The conference will also play host to the NSW Spatial Excellence Awards and dinner on Friday the 14th. The winners of these awards, together with the winners of the EISSI awards, will be put forward as NSW candidates to the National Asia Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards.
