DECCW to get a Fire Information Systems Strategic Plan

By on 29 March, 2011

The NSW Government’s Department of Environment, Climate Change & Water has contracted Spatial Vision to carry out a review of its current systems and data requirements, and deliver a Fire Information Systems Strategic Plan (FISSP).

To date, Spatial Vision has facilitated a series of structured workshops, with participants from various operational functional streams and management levels within DECCW and external agencies. The workshops enabled the identification of current and future needs, as well as existing business plans and IT.

A user-needs Analysis report will provide a review of current business systems and identify strengths and weaknesses and significant issues for resolution.

The FISSP will provide an action plan for the next five years, in terms of creating an integrated fire data management model, both aspatial and spatial, and integrated fire information system management within the DECCW.
