The 2023 Woolpert Geospatial Prize has been awarded to Liam Boyle, a spatial sciences student at Curtin University in Perth.

The Prize recognises outstanding work within Curtin University’s spatial sciences community.

Boyle completed a Bachelor of Surveying (Honours) in 2022, and has since embarked on studying a Doctorate of Philosophy (Spatial Sciences) in close range photogrammetry as it applies to clinical health assessment.

In addition to his studies, Boyle has acted as treasurer and co-president of the Western Australian Spatial Sciences Association and for the last three years has held a student member role on the University’s Spatial Sciences Advisory Board.

The prize was presented by Glenn Morrison, chair of the faculty’s Advisory Board and Woolpert’s Director of Operations – Asia-Pacific.

“This annual prize was first awarded by AAM Surveys in 1996,” said Morrison. “Liam came highly recommended for the award, and will be the first recipient of the commendation under our [company’s] new name.”
